Shiba inu Allergies, food intolerances
First of all we would like to say that we are not veterinarians and we invite you to contact your veterinarian in case of problems. Do not do anything in this article without first consulting your veterinarian. What is written is a summary of what has been discussed with various veterinarians or university professors who are worried about the enormous increase in the various groups of Shiba inu of the phenomenon of allergies. First of all, food allergies are not a common health problem of the Shiba Inu dog breed, although many support this in part. We tell you with full knowledge of the cause because our dogs eat everything and as always says both my mother and my partner "we still have to understand what they do not eat". This annoying and sometimes chronic condition causes itching, hair loss. In addition, food allergies can cause chronic oral infections, stomach problems, or intestines. Many dog owners do not understand the difference between a true food allergy and a food intolerance. Food allergies in Shiba Inu are always manifested as skin problems enriched by the fact that the dog scratches and scratches due to itching. Hair loss in Shiba inu commonly occurs around the eyes, mouth, ears, armpits and legs. Sometimes dogs with food allergies may have both gastrointestinal and skin problems I would say in the more acute forms. Food allergy is placed at the level of the immune system in which food is known as a foreign body. But why is there an increase in all these allergic forms even in dogs? Why all these Shiba with patchy hair allergies missing or with various itching? We have heard many bells and the most convincing explanation we try to give you in the least technical way possible so that it can be understood by everyone.
Many Shiba Inu purchased in Italy are low-priced dogs imported from countries where there are no rules and Italian strictness in breeding. In these breeding countries of Shiba Inu they are inseminated and treated hormonally to produce more cubs. These mares are made to give birth every 6 months and puppies sold without pedigree to hide all this. Usually the puppies are taken from the mother at 25 days (as Shiba mothers would not be able to recover for the next litter) and the puppies fed artificially with very poor food, without the mother instructing them. If the puppy is' together with the mother the same gives him the food still breastfeeding even if gradually less and less all this increases the immune system and teaches unconsciously to the intestinal walls to recognize all foods and therefore the intestinal walls learn to treat them. In this way you find an adult who eats everything and has no problems. If the mother is removed prematurely and the puppy is allowed to buy this independence alone, they will find themselves with a puppy whose intestinal walls are unable to recognize all foods and certain foods are seen as killer for the body. In these cases, the immune system is activated in the puppy or adult dog. So far there is no technique that makes sure to recognize the food as a killer. There are cortisone-based medicines that calm the immune system or foods made with meat or foods that usually do not carry allergies or intolerances (beef lamb potatoes etc.). Finding the food or foods to which your Shiba inu manifests the problem is not easy. There are many foods on the market for allergic dogs that have a great cost but here your veterinarian will be able to show you the best route. We simply say "do not feed the exploitation market for the sake of your wallet and for the good of the puppies".
